Turn up the heat with Shrimp Fra Diavolo! Aka, shrimp and linguini in a spicy marinara sauce. The marinara sauce is a little spicy thanks to red pepper flakes, but still filled with great herb-y notes that you’d find in traditional marinara. It sounds fancy but it’s a surprisingly easy dish to make, and so so yummy.

Instructions

Make the sauce
- Mince parsley. Peel 8 cloves of garlic and mince. Heat 2 tsp olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic once pan feels warm, and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add stewed tomatoes and stir. Add all spices: 1/4 c minced parsley, salt, pepper, oregano, red pepper flakes, dried basil, and sugar. Stir together and reduce heat to medium low. Let simmer for at least 10 minutes. Make the pasta and shrimp
- Fill a large pot 3/4 full with water. Add 1 1/2 Tbsp of salt to water and boil over medium high heat. Once water is at a rolling boil, add box of linguini and cook for 9 - 13 minutes. If you like your pasta al dente, opt for 9 minutes. Drain water from pasta and set aside.
- Add 1 tsp olive oil to pot that pasta was cooked in. Add thawed shrimp, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes until shrimp is warmed, and add pasta back to the pot. Add sauce and toss pasta to combine. The sauce should coat every noodle! Serve a large scoop of pasta, shrimp, and sauce, and top with parmesan and a sprinkle of parsley.
